Republicans still use 9/11 for political gain

In the race to fill the New York's 20th district Congressional seat vacated by Kirsten Gilibrand, the GOP has resorted to their old playbook. Democrat Scott Murphy, who like myself, has reservations on the death penalty, and the Republicans apparently that as an opportunity to seize the moment by aggravating the wounds that New Yorkers have about 9/11. In an ad released the National Republican Congressional Committee, an interview done with Scott Murphy is played behind the images those who attacked, and he is questioned about whether or not terrorists should be sentenced to death.
Using this imagery and audio is abusive to every American,we all remember far too well the horror of that day. If we are sentencing terrorists to death, they become martyrs, life behind bars is by far a more just punishment. I have long stated that killing people who kill people in order to teach that killing people is wrong, is not justice. I have not seen any comment on the ad from Republican challenger Jim Tedisco. Following is the GOP ad, and an ad from Scott Murphy.
